Jugement des défenseurs des droits humains au Sahara Occidental

Le défenseur sahraoui des droits humains et coprésident du CORELSO, Mr. ASFARI Ennaama, arrêté vendredi 05 janvier, à Smara, comparaîtra lundi 15 janvier 2007, devant la cour de première degré à Smara. Mr. ASFARI avait comparu devant le procureur général au près du même tribunal successivement Samedi, à 08h du matin, et dimanche, à 10h du matin.
L’arrestation de Mr. ASFARI s’inscrit dans un contexte de resserrement que pratique l’Etat Marocain à l’égard des défenseurs des droits de l’homme. Mr. ASFARI a été, à plusieurs reprises, objet de nombreuses intimidations et arrestation.
Par ailleurs, deux membres de l’ASVDH, comparaîtront, demain mardi 09 janvier 2007, devant la cour de deuxième degré, à El-Ayoune. Il s’agit de Mr. SABBAR Brahim, secrétaire général, et Mr. SBAI Ahmed, membre du conseil de coordination. Nous rappelons que ces deux défenseurs des droits humains ont été arrêtés le 17 juin 2006, à l’entrée de la ville d’El-Ayoune, lors de leur retour de la ville de Boujdour où ils avaient assisté à la création d’une section de l’ASVDH. Mr. SABBAR, rescapé du bagne secret Kalaat Megoun, où il a passé 10 ans, a été condamné à deux ans de prison dans un premier dossier, en compagnie de Mr. HADDI Elkainnan, condamné à trois ans de prison, et Mr. HADDI Mohamed Lamine, condamné à un de prison avec sursis.

Judgement of the human rights defenders in Western Sahara

The Sahrawi human rights defender and co-president of the CORELSO, Mr. ASFARI Ennaama, arrested Friday January 5, in Smara, will appear Monday January 15, 2007, before the court of first degree in Smara. Mr. ASFARI had appeared before the prosecutor general near the same court successively Saturday, at 08h morning, and Sunday, at 10h morning.
The arrest of Mr. ASFARI falls under a context of tightening which the Moroccan State practises in regard to the human rights defenders. Mr. ASFARI was, on several occasions, object of many intimidations and arrest.
In addition, two members of the ASVDH, will appear, tomorrow Tuesday January 9, 2007, before the court of second degree, in El-Ayoune. It is about Mr. SABBAR Brahim, secretary general, and Mr. SBAI Ahmed, member of the council of coordination.
We recall that these two human rights defenders were arrested on June 17, 2006, at the entry of El-Ayoune, at the time of their return from Boujdour where they had attended the creation of a section of the ASVDH.
Mr. SABBAR, survivor of the secret jail of Kalaat Megoun, where he spent 10 years, was condemned to two years of prison in a first lawsuit, in company of Mr. HADDI Elkainnan, condemned to three years, and Mr. HADDI Mohamed Lamine, condemned to one year of prison with deferment.
