Report du procès de deux prisonniers politiques
Deux détenus politiques sahraouis, Mr. Abdallah ELBOUSSATI et Mr. Nafai SAH, ont comparu, aujourd’hui mardi 25 mars 2008, devant la cour d’appel d’El-Ayoune. Cette dernière a décidé de reporté le procès de ces deux prisonniers politiques sahraouis au mardi 1 avril 2008. Selon les familles de ces deux prisonniers, ces derniers n’ont pas apparu devant le juge malgré qu’ils soient présents dans une autre salle du tribunal. Nous rappelons que ces deux détenus avaient été condamnés à un an de prison le 6 février 2008.
Nous rappelons aussi que d’autres procès auront lieu ce moi et le moi prochain. Ainsi, Mr. Said ELBAILLAL comparaîtra, le 27 mars 2008, devant la cour d’appel deRabat. Mr. ELBAILLAL avait été condamné à huit mois de prison. Trois autres détenus politiques sahraouis, comparaîtront le 1 avril 2008, devant la cour d’appel d’El-Ayoune. Il s’agit de Mr. Mouloud BRAKOUH, Mr. Hamid BARKOUH et Mr. Khellihenna DLEIMI, qui avaient été condamné à un an de prison. Enfin, Mr. Omar KHNIBILA, Mr. Bachir KHADDA, Mr. Mohamed BACHIRI, Mr. Abdessalam LOUMADI et Mr. Hassan DAH, comparaîtront devant la cour de premier degré le 2 avril 2008.
Par ailleurs, les détenus politiques sahraouis, dans la Prison Noire d’El-Ayoune, ont publié un communiqué de presse, hier lundi 24 mars 2008, dans lequel ils ont déclaré qu’ils ont mis fin à leur grève de la faim illimité, qu’ils avaient commencé depuis le 25 février 2008. Selon le communiqué, cette décision a été prise suite aux appels lancés par des ONGs, les familles des prisonniers et les avocats sahraouis. Il est aussi important de souligner à cet égard que l’état de santé des ces prisonniers est très préoccupant. Plusieurs d’entre eux, notamment Mr. Brahim SABBAR (50 ans), ont été hospitalisés après la dégradation de leur état de santé.

Report of the trial of two political prisoners
Two Sahrawi political detainees, Mr. Abdallah ELBOUSSATI and Mr. Nafai SAH, appeared today Tuesday, March 25, 2008, before the Court of Appeal of El-Ayoune. The latter decided to postpone the trial of both the Saharawi political prisoners to Tuesday, April 1, 2008. According to the families of these two prisoners, they have not appeared before the court although they are present in another room of the court. We recall that these two prisoners had been sentenced to one year in prison on February 6, 2008.
We recall also that other trials will take place this month and next month. Thus, Mr. Said ELBAILLAL will appear, on March 27, 2008, before the court of appeal of Rabat. Mr. ELBAILLAL was sentenced to eight months in prison. Three other Saharawi political prisoners will appear on April 1, 2008, before the Court of Appeal of El-Ayoune. It is about Mr. Mouloud BRAKOUH, Mr. Hamid BARKOUH and Mr. Khellihenna DLEIMI, who had been sentenced to one year in prison. Finally, Mr. Omar KHNIBILA, Mr. Bachir KHADDA, Mr. Mohamed BACHIRI, Mr. Abdessalam LOUMADI and Mr. Hassan DAH will appear before the court of first instance on April 2, 2008.
In addition, the Saharawi political prisoners in the Black Prison in El-Ayoune issued a press release yesterday Monday, March 24, 2008, in which they declare that they have ended their unlimited hunger strike they had started since Feb. 25, 2008. According to the press release, this decision was made following appeals by NGOs, the families of the prisoners and Saharawi lawyers. It is also important to emphasize that the health status of these prisoners is very troubling. Several of them, including Mr. Brahim SABBAR (50 years), were hospitalized after the deterioration of their health.
