Sentences abusives contre deux détenus Sahraouis
La cour de première instance d’El-Ayoune a copndamné le 09 mai 19 2008, le détenu politique sahraoui, Mr.Abdelaziz EDDAY, à six mois de prison ferme. Ce prisonnier politique était accompagné du citoyen sahraoui, Mr. Mohamed BOUSAIDI, qui a été condamné aussi par la cour de première instance à six mois de prison ferme.
Le procureur général près la cour de première instance d’El-Ayoune avait décidé, le 16 mai 2008, d’incarcérer l’ancien prisonnier politique sahraoui, Mr. Abdelaziz EDDAY (26 ans) à la Prison Noire d’El-Ayoune.
Mr. Abdelaziz EDDAY avait été arrêté le 15 mai 2008, par des éléments de la police marocaine à un point de contrôle au nord de la ville d’El-Ayoune, à environ cinq heures du soir, sous prétexte d’un avis de recherche contre lui diffusé par la Gendarmerie royale de la ville de Tarfaya (sud du Maroc) suite aux manifestations qu’a connu la même ville le 8 et 9 mai 2008. Après, il a été conduit au siège de la Wilaya de la sûreté d’El-Ayoune, où il a subi des interrogatoires pendant plusieurs heures avant d’être remis à la Gendarmerie d’El-Ayoune, qui l’ont soumis de nouveau à un interrogatoire toute la nuit sans être en mesure de connaître les véritables raisons de sa détention arbitraire.
Nous rappelons que l’ancien prisonnier politique sahraoui, Abdelaziz EDDAY, est né en 1982, la ville de Tarfaya, et avait déjà fait l’objet d’arrestation politique le 25 mai 25 2005 à El-Ayoune, à cause de sa participation à des manifestations pacifiques réclamant l’autodétermination pour le peuple sahraoui, et avait été condamné à quatre ans de prison ferme. La cour d’appel d’El-Ayoune avait commuée cette peine à deux ans de prison ferme. Il a été libéré avec des défenseurs des droits de l’homme et des prisonniers politiques sahraouis en 2006.

The court of first instance in El-Ayoune has condemned on May 19 2008, the Sahrawi political prisoner, Mr.Abdelaziz EDDAY, to six months in prison. The political prisoner was accompanied by the Saharawi citizen, Mr. BOUSAIDI Mohamed, who was also sentenced by the court of first instance to six months in prison.
The prosecutor general of the court of first instance of El-Ayoune has decided, on May 16, 2008, to imprison the former Saharawi political prisoner, Mr. Abdelaziz EDDAY (26 years) in the Prison of El-Ayoune. Mr. Abdelaziz EDDAY was arrested on May 15, 2008, by elements of the Moroccan police at a checkpoint in the north entrance of El-Ayoune, around five o’clock in the evening, under the pretext of a search against him of the Royal Moroccan Gendarmerie of the city of Tarfaya (southern Morocco) following protests in the same city on 8 and 9 May 2008. Following his detainment, he was taken to the headquarters of the Provincial (Wilaya) police of El-Ayoune, where he underwent interrogation for several hours before being handed over to Morocco’s Gendarmerie in El-Ayoune, who subjected him to a long interrogation all night and without being informed as to the real reasons for his arbitrary detention.
We recall that the former Sahrawi political prisoner Mr. Abdelaziz EDDAY was born in 1982, in Tarfaya, and has already been subjected to a politically-motivated arrest on May 25, 2005 in El-Ayoune, because of his participation in peaceful demonstrations calling for self-determination for the Sahrawi people. He was sentenced to four years in prison. The appellate court in El-Ayoune reduced the original sentence to two years in prison. He was released with other Sahrawi human rights defenders and Sahrawi political prisoners in 2006.
