La Coordination des Associations et Comités Sahraouis au Sahara Occidental suit avec très grande préoccupation les jugements des prisonniers politiques sahraouis qui se sont déroulés avant-hier lundi 31 mars, hier mardi 1er avril et aujourd’hui mercredi 2 avril 2008, à El-Ayoune. Ainsi, la cour de premier degré a condamné, lundi 31 mars 2008, Mr. Elmohktar AKHNIBILA (65 ans) et son fils Mr. Mohamed AKHNIBILA à dix mois de prison ferme pour charges d’agression et blessures et destruction des biens publics.
Le Mardi 1er avril 2008, la cour d’appel a réduit les peines des détenus politiques sahraouis Mr. Mouloud BARKOUH et Mr. Khellihenna DLEIMI, de un an à huit mois de prison ferme. Ces deux prisonniers politiques ont été libéré après avoir purgé leur peine. La même cour a également réduit la peine du détenu politique sahraoui, Mr. Hamid BARKOUH, d’un an et demi à un an de prison ferme. En outre, la cour d’appel a reporté le procès de Mr. Nafai SAH et Mr. Abdallah ELBOUSSATI au 15 avril 2008.
Aujourd’hui mercredi 2 avril 2008, les détenus politiques sahraouis, Mr. Omar KHNIBILA, Mr. Bachir KHADDA, Mr. Mohamed BACHIRI, Mr. Abdessalam LOUMADI et Mr. Hassan DAH, ont comparu devant la cour de premier degré d’El-Ayoune. Cette dernière a décidé de reporter le procès de ces cinq détenus politiques sahraouis, au 30 avril 2008.
A cet effet, la coordination des associations et comités au Sahara Occidental dénonce vivement ces procès iniques et les sentences lourdes contre les détenus politiques sahraouis et appelle à leur libération immédiate et sans conditions.
La coordination rappelle, également, que ces procès à base de fausses charges et procès verbaux montés de toute pièce, s’ajoute, comme preuve, à d’autres pratiques répressives que pratiques les autorités marocaines contre les détenus politiques sahraouis, qui, certains d’entre eux, mènent encore une grève de la faim illimitée.
De même, la coordination lance un appel pressant à toutes les organisations et à tous les activistes des droits humains d’agir en toute urge, ce pour la libération des prisonniers politiques sahraouis qui porte encore les séquelles des grèves de la faim. Comme elle appui les activités de la Campagne Internationale pour la Libération de Brahim SABBAR et tous les Prisonniers Politiques Sahraouis dans les Prisons Marocaines.
Enfin, la coordination réitère son soutien inconditionnel à tous prisonniers politiques sahraouis et leurs familles.

Declaration
The Coordination of Sahrawi Associations and Committees in Western Sahara follows with great concern the lawsuits of Sahrawi political prisoners that took place the day before yesterday Monday, March 31, yesterday Tuesday, 1 April and today Wednesday, April 2, 2008, in El-Ayoune. Thus, the court of first instance sentenced Monday, March 31, 2008, Mr. Elmohktar AKHNIBILA (65 years) and his son Mr. Mohamed AKHNIBILA to ten months in prison for charges of aggression and injury and destruction of public property.
On Tuesday, 1st April 2008, the appellate court reduced the sentences of Sahrawi political detainees Mr. Mouloud BARKOUH and Mr. Khellihenna DLEIMI, from one year to eight months in prison. These two political prisoners were released after serving their sentences. The same court also reduced the sentence of Saharawi political prisoner, Mr. Hamid BARKOUH, from one year and a half to one year in prison. In addition, the appellate court has postponed the trial of Mr. Nafai SAH and Mr. Abdallah ELBOUSSATI to April 15, 2008.
Today Wednesday, April 2nd, 2008, the Saharawi political prisoners, Mr. Omar KHNIBILA, Mr. Bachir KHADDA, Mr. Mohamed BACHIRI, Mr. Abdessalam LOUMADI and Mr. Hassan DAH, appeared before the court of first instance of El-Ayoune. The latter decided to postpone the trial of those five Sahrawi political detainees, to April 30, 2008.
To this effect, the coordination of associations and committees in Western Sahara strongly denounces these unfair trials and heavy sentences against the Saharawi political prisoners and calls for their immediate and unconditional release.
The coordination recalls, too, that the trials based on false charges and falsified police records, is added, as a proof, to other repressive practices that the Moroccan authorities practice against the Saharawi political prisoners, who, some of among them, still conduct an unlimited hunger strike.
Similarly, the coordination launches an urgent appeal to all organizations and all human rights activists to act with urge, for the release of Sahrawi political prisoners who still carry effects of the hunger strikes. And it supports the activities of the International Campaign for the Liberation of Brahim SABBAR and all Sahrawi political prisoners in the Moroccan Prisons.
Finally, the coordination reiterates its unconditional support to all Sahrawi political prisoners and their families.
