Arrestation et torture d’un jeune sahraoui
Le jeudi 27 mars 2008, un sit-in en faveur de l’autodétermination a été organisé par un groupe de jeunes sahraoui, au quartier Almatar à El-Ayoune. Le sit-in avait été sauvagement réprimé. Et depuis, la police marocaine a lancé une vague d’arrestation contre les manifestats. A cet effet un ensemble de jeunes sahraouis avaient été arrêté et torturé à la Wilaya de la sûreté nationale d’El-Ayoune.
Parmi ces jeunes, Mr. Bullahi Mohamed Bachri, né le 8 octobre 1990, qui a été arrêté le jeudi 27 mars 2008, vers 20 :00 GMT, et qui a été sauvagement torturé à la Wilaya de la sûreté d’El-Ayoune pendant quatre heures avant d’être libéré vers 30 minutes après minuit.
Mr. Bullahi a fait le témoignage suivant :
Nom : Bullahi Mohamed Bachiri
Date de naissance : 10 octobre 1990
Niveau d’étude : 3ème année préparatoire.
Nous avons participé, moi et plusieurs autres jeunes sahraouis, à un sit-in organisé le jeudi 27 mars 2008, au quartier Almatar. Durant ce sit-in nous avons scandé des slogans appelant au droit du peuple sahraoui à l’autodétermination et des drapeaux sahraouis ont été dressé. Le sit-in avait duré quelques minutes avant l’intervention de la police. La foule s’est dispersée et nous nous sommes cachés dans une maison. Plusieurs civiles ont été arrêté lors de l’intervention brutale de la police. Quand, moi et deux autres amis, avons quitté la maison où nous nous cachions, des policiers en civil nous ont arrêté et conduit d’abord au poste de police du quartier Almatar et après à la Wilaya de la sûreté d’El-Ayoune, dans une voiture de police de marque ‘Renault’, en nous passant au tabac et en nous insultant de toutes les injures.
Quand nous sommes arrivés à la Wilaya, des policiers m’ont bandé les yeux et ont commencé à cogner ma tête contre le mur jusqu’à ce que mon né saigne. Après ils m’ont allongé sur le sol et ont commencé à me frapper sur mes fesses. En suite, ils ont menotté mes mains derrière mon dos et attaché mes pieds, et m’ont mis un bâton entre les jambes, et suspendu entre deux bureaux. Ils ont alors commencé à me frapper sur les pied et me demandent si j’ai participer au sit-in mais j’ai nié. Alors ont changé ma position en attachant mes mains de l’avant et mes pieds et ont passé le même bâton sous mes bras et genoux et m’ont suspendu entre les deux bureaux. Après ils ont mis un chiffon sur mon visage et versent de l'eau mélangée avec de l’urine sur mon visage. Il m’ont dit : « quand tu veux nous dire quelques chose fait bouger ton doigt pour que nous arrêtions de te torturer ». Ils m’ont aussi demandé qui nous donne l’argent et qui nous aide mais je leur ai dit que je n’avait rien à faire avec tout cela. Nous sommes restés dans cette situation jusqu'à minuit et ils nous ont relâchés.

Arrest and torture of a young Sahrawi
On Thursday, March 27, 2008, a sit-in in favour of self-determination was organized by a group of young Sahrawi, at Almatar district in El-Ayoune. The sit-in was brutally repressed. Since then, the Moroccan police launched a wave of arrests against demonstrators. To this end a number of Sahrawi youth had been arrested and tortured in the Wilaya of National Security of El-Ayoune.
Among these youths, Mr. Bullahi Mohamed Bachri, born on October 8, 1990, who was arrested on Thursday, March 27, 2008, around 20: 00 GMT, and who was brutally tortured in the Wilaya of the security of El-Ayoune for four hours before being freed to 30 minutes after midnight.
Mr. Bullahi presented his testimony as follows:
Name: Mohamed Bachiri Bullahi
Birth date: Oct. 10, 1990
School Level: 3rd preparatory year.
We participated; I and several other young Sahrawi, in a sit-in organized on Thursday, March 27, 2008, at the district Almatar. During the sit-in we shouted slogans calling for the right of the Saharawi people to self-determination and Saharawi flags were erected. The sit-in lasted a few minutes before the police intervention. The crowd dispersed and we were hiding in a house. Several civilians were arrested during the brutal police intervention. When I and two other friends have left the house where we hide, plainclothes police officers arrested us and took us first to the police station at the district Almatar then to the Wilaya of the security of El-Ayoune, in a police car 'Renault', under beatings and insults.
When we arrived at the Wilaya, the police blindfolded me and started to knock my head against the wall until my nose bleeds. After then they took me on the floor and began hitting me on my buttocks. Then they handcuffed my hands behind my back and tied my feet and put a stick between my legs, and suspended me between two desks. They then started to hit me on my feet and ask me if I participated in the sit-in but I denied. So they changed my position by tying my hands in front and my feet and spent the same stick in my arms and knees and suspended me between the two desks. Then they put a rag on my face and pour water mixed with urine on my face. They told me: "when you want to tell us something move your finger so that we quit torturing you." They also questioned me about who gives us money and helps us, but I told them that I had nothing to do with all this. We remained in this position until midnight and then they released us.
