Report du jugement de Mr. Said ELBAILLAL
La cour de première instance de Rabat (Maroc) a décidé, jeudi 03 janvier 2008, de reporter le procès de Mr. Said ELBAILLA, défenseur des droits humains et membre du Comité Sahraouis pour le Soutien à l’Autodétermination au Sahara Occidental (CODAPSO), jusqu’au 14 janvier 2008. Mr. Said ELBAILLAL, poursuit en état d’arrestation, n’a pas été présenté devant la cour et aucune explication n’a été donnée à cette absence. Des avocats ont assisté à cette audience tels que Mr. Mohamed AQDIM (représentant l’AMDH) et Mr. SADIK. Les agents de la police, présents devant l’entrée du tribunal, ont refusé de laisser Mr. Brahim DAHANE, président de l’ASVDH, et d’autres activistes et étudiants sahraouis, entrer pour assister à ce procès.
Nous rappelons que Mr. Said ELBAILLA avait arrêté le mercredi 26 décembre 2007, à Smara suite à un avis de recherche lancé contre lui depuis mai 2007. Mr. ELBAILLA avait comparu une première fois devant la cour de première instance le lundi 31 décembre 2007. Cette séance avait été reportée au 03 janvier 2008.
Mr. ELBAILLAL s’attend donc à une nouvelle séance le 14 janvier et toutes organisations et personnalités soutenant les droits de l’homme sont invitées à soutenir ce détenu sahraoui.

Report of the trial of Mr. Said ELBAILLAL
The Court of First Instance in Rabat (Morocco) decided Thursday 03 January 2008, to postpone the trial of Mr. Said ELBAILLA, human rights defender and member of the Sahrawi Committee for the Support of Self-determination in Western Sahara (CODAPSO), until January 14, 2008. Mr. Said ELBAILLAL, pursued under arrest, was not presented to the court and no explanation was given for this absence. Lawyers attended the hearing such as Mr. Mohamed AQDIM (representing AMDH) and Mr. SADIK. The police officers present at the entrance to the court refused to let Mr. Brahim DAHANE, president of the ASVDH, and other Sahrawi activists and students attend the trial.
We recall that Mr. Said ELBAILLA was arrested Wednesday, December 26, 2007, at Smara following a search launched against him since May 2007. Mr. ELBAILLA had appeared for the first time before the trial court Monday, December 31, 2007. This meeting was postponed to 03 January 2008.
Mr. ELBAILLAL therefore expects a further hearing on January 14 and all organizations and personalities supporting human rights are invited to support this Saharawi prisoner.
