A temporary dismissal of work and deprivation of salary against a Sahrawi woman in Dakhla for her beliefs
The Sahrawi citizen Khadija Abdedayem, 43 year-old mother of three children, was surprised by her temporary dismissal of work and deprivation of salary until the Punishment Council examines her case.
Khadija is a technician in Legouira village, which is part of Dakhla province. She has been working for 17 years in the public sector up to the present.
On January 07th, 2009, she was tried in Dakhla by the first instance court where she expressed her support for the Sahrawi people's self-determination and the Sahrawi political prisoners.
Among these prisoners is her brother, Mustapha Abdedayem, a high school chief supervisor (surveillant general) who lowered the Moroccan flag at half-mast in his school. That was as a protest against the Moroccan fierce repression against the Sahrawi demonstrators in Assa, the city where he works.
Consequently, he was sentenced to three years imprisonment. He is now in Inezegane prison ,near Agadir, Morocco.
His sister, Khadija, has not been safe from the Moroccan assaults. She was threatened of arrest and dismissal of work in different occasions. The threats intensified especially when she went in a 14 day hunger strike that all her family underwent as a protest against the illegal verdict against Mustapha Abdedayem.
Special pressure was exerted upon her by the chief of ' the security circle Almassira' in Dakhla to say that she is a Moroccan citizen and she disagrees with her brother's beliefs.
She refused. Therefore, 'this may be behind all this story of work dismissal and fake trial,' she says.
