Lourde sentences contre les détenus politiques sahraouis à El-Ayoune

La cours de deuxième degré d’El-Ayoune, a prononcé hier, 06 mars 2007, de nouvelles lourdes et injustes sentences contre les détenus politiques et défenseurs sahraouis des droits de l’homme. Ainsi, le secrétaire général de l’asvdh, Mr. Brahim SABBAR et le membre du conseil de coordination, Mr. Ahmed SBAI, ont été condamné à un an de prison. En outre, les trois détenus politiques sahraouis, Mr. Elhafed TOUBALI, Mr. Mohamed Lehbib ELGASMI et Mr. Ahmed Salem AHMEIDAT ont été condamné à trois ans de prison. De même, cette même cour a été décidé de reporté le jugement du détenu politique sahraoui, Mr. Abdessalam LOUMADI, au 20 mars 2007.
Nous rappelons que Mr. SABBAR avait été condamné auparavant à deux ans de prison dans un premier jugement avec le détenu politique sahraoui Mr. Ahmed Mahmoud HADDI qui a été condamné à trois ans de prison.

Suspension de la grève de la faim

Les détenus politiques sahraouis en prison noire à El-Ayoune, ont décidé, dimanche 03 mars 2007, de suspendre la grève de la faim qu’ils ont entamé depuis le 30 janvier 2007 suite au mauvais traitement qu’ils ont subit dans ce même pénitencier. Ces détenus ont déclaré qu’ils resteront toujours prêts à défendre leurs droits légitimes en tant que détenus d’opinion et qu’ils reprendront leur grève si la direction pénitentiaire n’assume pas ses engagements.

Jugement des tortionnaires marocain en Espagne

Le ministère public de l’Audience nationale, la plus haute instance pénale en Espagne, a demandé au célèbre juge Baltasar Garzon d’enquêter sur les accusations de "crimes internationaux" commis par "32 dirigeants et militaires marocains" au Sahara Occidental depuis 1975, a rapporté mardi le quotidien espagnol El Mundo.

Rapport du département des affaires étrangères des Etats-Unis d’Amérique dénonce les violations des droits de l’homme au Sahara Occidental

Le département des affaires étrangères des Etats-Unis d'Amérique a dénoncé les violations marocaines des droits de l'homme au Sahara Occidental dans ce territoire non autonome pendant l'an 2006, dans un rapport détaillé sur la situations des droits de l’Homme au Sahara occidental rendu public mardi. Le rapport de 9 pages publié sur le site officiel du département, relate plusieurs cas de détention, tortures, emprisonnements et mentionne des noms de prisonniers politiques et d'activistes de droits de l'homme tels que :Hammoud IGUILID, Président de la branche de l'Association marocaine des droits de l'homme, Brahim DAHANE, président d'une association sahraouie de droits humains entre autres en tant que victimes de violations et d'intimidations exercées à leur encontre par les autorités marocaines.

Heavy sentences against the Sahrawi political prisoners in El-Ayoune
The court of second degree of El-Ayoune, pronounced yesterday, March 6, 2007, new heavy and unjust sentences against the Sahrawi political prisoners and defenders of the human rights. Thus, the secretary general of the asvdh, Mr. Brahim SABBAR and the member of the council of coordination, Mr. Ahmed SBAI, were condemned to one year of prison. Moreover, the three Sahrawi political prisoners, Mr. Elhafed TOUBALI, Mr. Mohamed Lehbib ELGASMI and Mr. Ahmed Salem AHMEIDAT were condemned to three years of prison. In the same way, this same court decided to defer the judgement of the Sahrawi political prisoner, Mr. Abdessalam LOUMADI, at March 20, 2007.
We point out that Mr. SABBAR had been condemned before to two years of prison in a first judgement with the Sahrawi political prisoner Mr. Ahmed Mahmoud HADDI who was condemned to three years of prison.

Suspension of the hunger strike
The Sahrawi political prisoners, in the black jail, in El-Ayoune, decided, Sunday March 3, 2007, to suspend the hunger strike, which they have started since January 30, 2007, following the ill treatment to which they have been subjected. Those prisoners declared that they will remain always ready to defend their legitimate rights as prisoners of opinion and that they will take again their strike if the penitentiary direction does not assume its engagements.
